From first time splitboarders and ski tourers to avalanche training and touring courses to high-end ski mountaineering we offer guests and guides a wide variety of engaging mountain experiences throughout the North Cascades, the legendary Mount Baker Backcountry, and abroad.

 

Position Summary:

Guided Exposure is seeking skilled AMGA Apprentice or higher Alpine and Rock Guides. This part time role includes:

This part time summer position could grow into a year round role with fall and winter trips being offered throughout the North Cascades and abroad.

 

Minimum Requirements/ Skills:

Candidates should have the ability to lead, communicate effectively, and be able to passionately teach in adverse weather conditions. We’re looking for guides who can assess the needs of the individual and groups while managing risk and achieving learning outcomes.  

Candidates who come to Guided Exposure base AMGA courses (Rock, Ski, Alpine Guide Course) will receive mentorship, professional development, and work assignments in accordance with the S.O.P. and route catalog to confidently progress to next tier courses and exams, while at the same time gaining personal experience in some of the best terrain in the world.

  • AMGA Apprentice Alpine or Rock Guide
  • AIARE Pro 1 or equivalent
  • Wilderness First Responder or higher
  • CPR
  • Leave No Trace Credential
  • Lead course participants through a variety of backcountry terrain
  • Meet or exceed AMGA alpine/rock guide movement and fitness standards

Experience:

Our ideal candidate for this position will have the following:

  • Be able to lead and manage groups in glaciated alpine terrain during adverse weather.
  • Personal knowledge of Mount Baker, Shuksan, and greater North Cascade Region
  • 2 years of guiding experience
  • Professional outdoor education experience

 

Wage/Salary:

Equitable wages are commensurate with experience. At Guided Exposure, we use a pay scale based on certification and experience. Based on this scale, pay ranges from $325-$450/day.

Operations Assistant

About:

Guided Exposure offers a wide variety of guided mountain experiences in the North Cascades and the legendary Mount Baker area. From first time splitboarders/ ski tourers and avalanche training to touring courses and high-end ski mountaineering that provide engaging experiences for guests and guides alike. 

 

Position Summary:

Guided Exposure is seeking an operations assistant with strong organizational skills, a diverse skill set, and a willingness to implement modern management strategies. This administrative position works closely with company management for 20 hours per week and primarily runs from November until May, however training can start as early as August. 2 days per week would be in person at our office in Glacier Washington while the remaining time would be remote. This part time position could grow into a full-time year-round role and includes a diverse set of tasks ranging from greeting guests, responding to inquiries, communicating with staff, to delegating tasks, improving operational flow, and creating marketing materials.    

 

Minimum Requirements/ Skills:

Candidates should have the ability to conduct self-directed work, verbally communicate effectively, have a creative and modern eye for problem solving, and value building community connections. We’re looking for an operations assistant who can complete assigned tasks in an efficient manner and communicate with guests and guides to ensure operations run smoothly. 

  • Email and phone communication with guests and guides
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Assists guests with booking trips 
  • Ensure smooth trip logistics 
  • Proficiency with the google suite
  • Manage inventory
  • Ability to learn or experience with frontend and backend website
  • Familiarity with software application integration
  • Experience with social media and editing platforms 
  • Attention to detail
  • Task completion and follow through

 

Experience:

Our ideal candidate for this position will have the following minimum experience:

  • 2 years of working in the Outdoor Industry or specifically mountain guiding 
  • 2 years of teaching AIARE curriculum 
  • Professional outdoor education and personal climbing experience
  • Prior experience working with website and application integrations

 

Wages:

Equitable wages are commensurate with experience. Pay starts at $16 and goes up to $20.
