This 2 or 3 Day ascent and ski is the best way to enjoy Mount Baker. We will spend nights basecamp style while taking evening runs each day. On summit day we will time our departure for the best snow quality on the descent. Possible routes include the Coleman-Deming, Squak, or Boulder Glacier Routes.


Participants will learn to:

  • Glacier travel on a rope team
  • Practice self arrest
  • Improve skinning skills
  • Knots & Hitches
  • Practice crevasse rescue
  • Refine winter camp craft


Best For:

  • Strong Intermediate or higher ski ability
  • Ability to ski or ride with a backpack
  • Moderate or above fitness (ascend 4,700 vertical feet over 4 miles in a day)
  • Ascend a total of 7,200' of vertical over 12 miles round trip (more early season)
